Yandex falls victim to massive mailout with drone attack threat

MOSCOW, Nov 7 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet company Yandex has handed over information on a letter, allegedly a massive mailout, with drone attack threats it received, to law enforcement entities, a company spokesperson told PRIME on Thursday.

“It happened yesterday. As far as we know, it’s a massive mailout that involved not only Yandex,” the spokesperson said.

Media earlier reported that unknown persons had sent a letter to Yandex with a threat to attack its Moscow headquarters with self-made drones with explosives. The perpetrators demanded a cryptocurrency ransom.
